We have donated drone time for many videos here on the Riviera Maya and will continue to do so.

I hope you enjoy the collection presented.

The Perfect Sunrise

23 December 20222

Everything lined up for this video!

The island, the sun, the stars, the cruise ship.

This is the video I have been wanting to make since I started flying the sunrise here in Mexico.

Hundreds of videos, THIS is the best so far!

My New Dual Camera Mavic 3 Drone

This first video was created on 1 August 2022 and is the first sunrise video I shot with the new drone.

Enjoy it, I will be creating more videos for your pleasure, and mine.

I have been negligent of posting, my apologies!

I have some videos for you. Oh yes!

Some are ready, I just need to upload them. Others are half processed and I am sure there is one not touched yet, but I am on it. First, an appetizer.

This firt one was made while I was in New Jersey on business, good thing the sun comes up early huh?

Second sunrise for the Mavic 3

Things went a bit smoother today on her second flight.

I chose a different way of readying the video for presentation.

I am getting a LOT more flight time than with the Mavic Air 2, though I still have uses for it.

This is different

I decided to make an inspirational sunrise video.

Let me know what you think about it.

And now for something COMPLETELY different

After a failed attempt to create a 60 minute initial video, meaning using 2 batteries, with the upgraded drone and cameras, (Sunrise on 4 Aug) I ran into some serious problems in post.

I ran into the problem while trying to speed the video up so that it ran, complete, in around 3.5 minutes.

This to keep them short enough for you, but long enough to encompass a jaunty tune.

My videos with the old drone were about 23 to 25 minutes of original video to start.

The new videos cover almost 40 minutes, so the post processing is different.

So, due to the major upgrade of the Hassleblad cameras, I am trying something new here

This video was made with a single battery, (5 Aug), but I did not compress the time like I normally do.

This is part of my experimentation in the hopes of stepping up to 2 batteries

and getting more of the sunrise itself in that 3 to 4 minute range.

Instead of a song, I have used a motivational soundtrack.

This is in line with the Mind Mechanic life coaching program.

Feedback welcome, and in fact requested.

Sunrise happens!

Picked up some new software, so things will smooth out a bit from here.

Enjoy this one from yesterday.

Liked that song, so here is another version

Yeah, that song is classic, so I ran another version down for today's video.

Enjoy!

Sunday 14 August 2022

Great flight, great sunrise!

Still having a bit of a problem in post at the end of the video.

Working to figure it out and will replace this video should I find a solution.

The video is good, the music is good, the sunrise is gorgeous.

But that technical glitch at the end is wearing on my nerves!

Enjoy!

Tuesday 16 August 2022

One of the best yet!

Beautiful sunrise and the new video editing software is working quite well!

Let me know what you think of this one!

Beautiful Sunrise Change Of Pace

Such a wonderful and colorful sunrise today!

I decided to reach back into my childhood for a FUN song to match it up too.

Enjoy the story in this song.

The Rovers, "Wasn't That A Party"

Thursday 25 August 2022

As I was filming this, I was struck by a thought and was considering "Bobby McGee" for the song.

I watched a bike go past and briefly considered buying one.

It hit me, it could be stolen and I have had enough stolen in this life.

Therefore, I am free, according to Janis Joplin's song.

Then, I thought of my son and decided to use our song.

I hope you enjoy it.

Gotta go wash the dust out of my eyes.

In the heat of the battle, Humor!

Saturday 27 August 2022

Dealing with Tlaloc the water god again.

So the song I put in this video makes me smile.

He wanted war, now he has got war.

Off to Tulum!

Beautiful sunrise, with Johny Cash

Since I have gotten no feedback, I am accepting that everyone likes my music choices.

I love the story line here, the message.

Oh, and the sunrise!

Some days are different

Some days I get in the air and think, well, if the sun does show, it should be special.

On those days I go ahead and let the drone film in place, "just in case" something spectacular happens.

Some days it is glorious, others it is a complete dud and I have to get my drone landed before it rains.

This day there was enough color displayed so I went ahead and created this for you.

Celebrating Jens new status

This one is a good sunrise and it is accompanied by a song Jen requested.

I have never dedicated a video to anyone until now, but she deserves to celebrate and I support that.

So, enjoy your special video, set to your requested tune Jen!

I hate everything about Mondays, Except this

This one was pretty special, I will let you decide why.

Rainy season strikes again

It started out looking very promising.

But, as happens in rainy season on the Riviera Maya, the sun never fully emerged before I had to land.

It gave some beautiful color displays though.

Laughter is the BEST medicine!

The world has lost it's mind, so, lets have some FUN!

Rule #3: "If you are not having fun, you are NOT doing it right!"

I had a few songs in mind this morning as I flew, but then I had an idea.

There is the old Mark Chesnutt song "Bubba Shot The Juke Box" which was fun.

But, Buddy Brown remade that song for current affairs.

This video has both versions, so watch to the end and ENJOY!

My drone sunglasses have arrived!

I ordered "filters", AKA Sunglasses, for my Mavic 3's Hassleblad cameras.

Today's video is the first use of them.

I used the ND4 filter for this video.

Notice the little green dot is no longer present in the video as it has been for awhile.

And now for something COMPLETELY different

I am going to have to step up to an ND8 filter, that green blob is back in the picture.

About a third of the way through, those flashes you see are birds, trying to intimidate the drone, why they are doing that at that altitude is beyond me, normally unless it is a raptor, this behavior is found under 30 meters off the ground. This flight was at 80 meters, so no idea why they had a problem with it.

O.K. On to the sound track I have chosen for today.

First off:

I am no longer a member of the democrat party and I have never been a member of the republican party.

If it helps, I never voted for Trump and wouldn't.

Basically I despise ALL politicians and agree with the founding fathers.

Some may find the end of this video disturbing, so watch it at your own risk.

REMEMBER, you can turn off the sound if you don't like the accompaniment.

In a way, this gets political, I like it because it speaks to something I believe in.

Namely, celebrities need to STFU and stay in their insulated lifestyles.

The ending is a bit of hyperbole as to what they will likely be doing shortly at this rate.

But, as I warned you, it is bloody after about 3:12 or level with the rooftops.

If it does not push the agenda and toe the narrative line, they cancel it or censor it today.

They have been trying to censor and shut this kid up since he started. I hated Rap, till I heard him.

Celebrities who do not have a high school diploma, as in most of them, should STFU already.

Now, on to today's sunrise, it was awesome!

(Note: Americas founding fathers would have hanged every politician in the country LONG ago,

then held an election. The government would have run like a Swiss watch for 200 years.)

A sunrise with a life lesson

Technical details first. I used an ND8 filter and STILL got that annoying green dot. I attempted to remove it with ChromaKey, but that was worse! I will continue to study the problem till I figure it out.

Now then, they say:

"It does not matter how many times life knocks you down, it is how many times you get back up"

And this is certainly true. I for one often say "It's not my first rodeo"

And that brings us to today's video and "the meaning of life" if you will pardon my pun.

Being raised a country boy, this has a particular meaning to me.

Life is quite like a rodeo, all the ups and downs, the jumping around and trying to throw us to the ground.

"You just have to make it to the bell"

But when life knocks us to the ground, the intelligent thing to do is get the hell out of the way,

then try again later, on another horse or bull or whatever you are trying to ride.

The song today is a Garth Brooks classic, appropriately called "Rodeo"

Listen to it as you watch the sun rise, and equate "rodeo" to life then extrapolate the meaning.

Life really can be, that simple.

You just have to make it to the bell.

I love a good sunrise!

This morning I was thinking of a song for this while I filmed it.

Took me awhile to remember the name of the song, I was going to do another life lesson video.

"Take the money and run"

But when I went to look it up, I found it was way too short for the video.

I may further compress the video and put it up with that song for fun, but a friend suggested this.

Another life lesson in a musical sunrise

I was stuck between a kicking tune and a life lesson for this one.

This song is both descriptive and instructive.

Hope you like the combination!

Nearly perfect Friday sunrise 23 Sept 2022

I knew before I got to an altitude of 85 meters, (278 feet), this was going to be good!

I asked a friend of mine, Jen, to pick an appropriate length song for this.

So remember, she is to blame if you like the music.

Check out the colors!

A little AC/DC anyone?

The colors were good today!

Had to have something upbeat with a punch.

Even the less than perfect can be spectacular

Some mornings the clouds try to obscure things.

Add some patience and there are beautiful colors to behold.

Welcome To Taco Tuesday!

Likely more accurate to call it Tequila Tuesday.

Every day is taco day here, and they don't go CRUNCH!

Beautiful sunrise, even if the clouds did fight it tooth and nail.

Happy Wednesday!

Wednesday rocking it.

Clouds do not mean things cannot be pretty nice.

First sunrise vedeo from the new clinic location

Thursday 6 October 2022 and the first sunrise to be flown from the new location.

The new office is not fully set up yet, though my new chair is really comfy!

Check out this colorful sunrise, it is BEAUTIFUL!

This may be part of why they call this paradise.

October 11 Was Beautiful!

We are starting to get a look at Cozumel in the right side of the video.

My intent is to get a video of the perfect sunrise with Cozumel directly in front of the sun coming up.

I think that would be the ultimate sunrise video.

Already I am trying to decide what song to use.

October is not so bad

I was not sure about this morning.

Hopefully I will soon be live streaming this stuff!

Lots of fun for me, I hope you are enjoying it as well.

The season is upon us

Tuesday 18 October 2022

The sun is now rising where it leaves the north end of Cozumel in the videos!

In this video, I do a few new things, such as looking at the cruise ship coning in to Cozumel.

I also have a short look at Cozumel itself.

When we get past this rainy season stuff, we will be seeing more of Cozumel in these sunrise videos.

Sunrise on license day

Got my license on 14 November 2022 But first I caught the sunrise!

20 Dec 2022 It's Been Awhile!

O.K. Folks, here we go!

Back from the US trip, getting ready to do it again, but I caught a great sunrise and here it is!

Accompanied by the Rolling Stones!
